Flushing, NY – Maryland lottery winners won $2 million on Saturday, becoming the first to be awarded a cash prize after winning the state lottery.
Maryland Lottery spokesman Jim Martin confirmed to TechRadars that the winners of the $2,000 prize were from five states and one city, but did not give further details.
The lottery’s lottery numbers were 1, 2, 4, 6, 9 and 11, but it was unclear whether they had been altered in the process.
The winners will be awarded their prize after being contacted by the lottery in person, and it will be sent to the state.
“We want to make sure that everyone who has the chance to win has an opportunity to participate in the great state of Maryland, and that means we are reaching out to the winners,” Martin said.
The Maryland Lottery said that it is also offering a cash award of $2 for each winner.
The winning numbers from the lottery were 1-3-6-9-11, while the other winning numbers were 2-3, 5-6, and 8.
Marylanders can use their lottery numbers to check for any change to the number they enter.
The state’s lottery is part of the US Department of Homeland Security.
The lottery has a history of making money, having won the money from the sale of the lottery numbers.
In January, the state earned $1.6 million in profit from lottery sales.
