GA lottery officials said Monday that more than half the winners in the 2020 Louisiana lottery have already been picked.
More than one in four winners of the state’s largest lottery has already won the state lottery, which was set to open Monday, according to a release from the Louisiana Lottery Commission.
The commission said in a release that the winners of lottery-winning players will be notified by email or text message.
Louisiana is the first state to use the lottery’s text messaging service, the Lottery Message System, to notify winners of winning tickets.
The winners of Louisiana lottery winners have been notified by text message, email or by phone, the commission said.
In a statement Monday, the Louisiana lottery said it was working with the lottery commission to ensure that the notification process for lottery winners is as streamlined as possible.
Lotto commissioner David C. Allen said the commission is making an effort to provide notification for winners of winners of players who have already qualified.
The lottery is also using a lottery-wide text message and email notification system to notify lottery winners of their winning tickets, he said.
The state’s lottery commission, which is responsible for running the lottery, has about 7.5 million tickets in circulation.
The lottery is the largest in the nation.
The commission said it has the second-highest lottery turnover rate in the country behind Utah, with nearly 9 million tickets being printed every day.
The Louisiana lottery’s ticket sales totaled $1.1 billion in fiscal year 2018, according the commission.
