WASHINGTON (AP) Virginia lottery officials said Thursday that the numbers for the Virginian Lottery and Gaming Commission’s three Virginia lottery offices, which operate the state’s three lottery companies, had changed on Wednesday.
Virginia Lottery Commissioner James T. Wilson confirmed the changes in a news release.
He says the agency will issue an update on the state lottery’s website at 1:15 p.m.
(1515 GMT) on Friday.
The Virginia Lottery has a lot of work to do.
But we believe the numbers are in good shape.
The Virginia lottery opened in 1961, and has since been in operation in all 50 states.
Virginia’s lottery has won more than $9 billion since its opening in 1963, according to data from the federal Bureau of Labor Statistics.
The Associated Press has not independently verified the numbers.
